PERTH WOMAN BATTERED A CHILD WITH A POLE AND AVOIDED PUNISHMENT
Perth Sheriff Court heard Watkinson, of Maxton Place, grabbed a wooden fence post—used to attach a paint roller—and started to repeatedly bang it against a door while the child was hiding on the other side.
The fiscal depute Sarah Wilkinson explained: “The pole penetrated the door and struck the girl on the body and arm.” She noted that the injury caused was “several bruises.” Watkinson, who pleaded guilty to assaulting the girl causing injury on October 30, 2020, has stayed out of trouble since the incident.
Sheriff Francis Gill stated: “Whatever the circumstances, it is not acceptable to act in the way that you did.
However, it is your first offence and you have accepted responsibility for it.
You have been of good behaviour since.
You will be admonished.”
