KENT MEN FOUND GUILTY OF TEEN GANG RAPE IN RAMSGATE
Four men who perceived an opportunity to satisfy their perverse sexual appetites have been found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl in Ramsgate, Kent.The accused are Tamin Rahmani, aged 37, from Northwood Road, Ramsgate; Rafiullah Hamidy, aged 24, from High Street, Herne Bay; Shershah Muslimyar, aged 20, of Hovenden Close, Canterbury; and Hamid Mohamadi, aged 18, formerly residing in Boughton Aluph, Ashford.
The attack took place at Rahmani’s residence early on September 18, 2016, after the girl asked for directions post a night out.
Despite denying the allegations, all were convicted in Canterbury Crown Court.
Rahmani was detained the same day, with forensic evidence and CCTV footage linking him to the crime; he was subsequently extradited from Italy and arrived at Heathrow Airport on March 28.
The remaining three men are currently in custody awaiting sentencing, the date of which will be announced later.
The girl was initially assisted by two bystanders who saw her distressed and reported the incident to police, highlighting how she was betrayed by trusted individuals at her most vulnerable moment.
