SERIAL SEX OFFENDER WHO ASSAULTED DISABLED MAN AT RAMSGATE RAILWAY STATION SPARED JAIL
A sexual predator named Sacha Mazouz, aged 47, who approached a disabled man outside Ramsgate railway station on June 8 and engaged in a late-night assault, has avoided jail despite a history of similar offenses.The victim, left 'physically sick' and trembling in fear, recounted how Mazouz, drunk and persistent, made explicit comments and touched his upper leg near his groin, causing him to flee and call 999.
Mazouz, who has 17 previous convictions including sexual offenses, was found to have breached court orders and failed to declare some bank details.
Magistrates, describing him as a 'danger to the public,' chose to suspend a 24-week jail sentence for two years, instead imposing a mix of rehabilitation sessions, alcohol treatment, a curfew, and a stricter 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court acknowledged Mazouz's prior offenses, including a 2013 sexual assault on a teenage boy and previous breaches of court orders.
The victim stated the attack left him suffering from depression, anxiety, and difficulty being intimate with his partner.
Prosecutor Lucie Fish highlighted that Mazouz had targeted vulnerable victims under the influence of alcohol, and the magistrates expressed deep concern over his predatory behavior, noting this was not an isolated incident.
Mazouz also previously sought out men for sexual propositions, including incidents in Canterbury and outside a McDonald's, and had attacked another man in 2023.
His past convictions include serious sexual offenses, robbery with an imitation firearm, and indecent images of a child, among others.
Despite early admissions and bail compliance, the court clearly sees Mazouz as a significant threat, and he was handed a mixture of community orders, rehabilitation, and a ten-year court order to prevent further offenses.
