HARTLEPOOL CHILD SEX OFFENDER STUART THOMPSON SENTENCED IN 2017

In July 2017, Stuart Thompson, aged 27 and residing on Kipling Road, Hartlepool, was sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a young boy.

The court heard that Thompson performed a sexual act on the boy and attempted to encourage the boy to perform a similar act on him.

Prosecutor Robin Turton stated, "The boy disclosed what had happened to his mother.

A medical examination found the boy had bruising consistent with the assault." The incident arose after Thompson contacted the boy under the pretext of playing on a games console, court proceedings revealed.

When questioned by police, Thompson denied any wrongdoing, suggesting that the boy must have watched pornography and based his story on that.

However, further evidence was obtained through a DNA test of the boy’s underwear, which revealed traces of Thompson’s saliva.

Thompson pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault of a child under 13 and inciting a child under 13 to commit a sexual act.

Judge Tony Briggs sentenced him to four years in prison and imposed a lifelong order restricting his contact with children without supervision.

Additionally, Thompson is required to register as a sex offender for life.

Judge Briggs stated, “I have read about the shattering and corrosive effect your offending had on the victim and his family.

Your guilty pleas provided them some certainty.

They show you accept that the charges reflect what you did.

I take into account your personal difficulties, but you are a mature man of 27, and the victim was a young child.”
