TIPTON MAN STUART LANGFORD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE AND FILMING OF YOUNG BOYS IN SANDWELL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Tipton and the wider Sandwell area, Stuart Langford, a 35-year-old man from Tipton, has been sentenced to seven years and five months in prison for a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual exploitation and filming of young boys.The case came to light after a brave young victim came forward to authorities, leading to a thorough investigation that uncovered a pattern of predatory behavior by Langford.
Langford targeted vulnerable boys, exploiting their trust by offering money and gifts as a means of gaining control over them.
His manipulative tactics included persistent harassment through text messages of a sexual nature, despite warnings from the boys’ families to cease contact.
One of the victims, a young boy, reported that Langford continued to pursue him even after being warned, and eventually arranged a meeting where Langford exposed himself in an attempt to sexually assault him.
Fortunately, the boy managed to leave the scene unharmed, but the harassment did not stop there.
Following the incident, the victim contacted police, who responded swiftly.
During the investigation, officers seized Langford’s laptop, which contained footage of him sexually abusing another young boy.
This second victim, also 15 years old and described as vulnerable, revealed that Langford had offered him money and a mobile phone to manipulate and control him during the abuse.
The second boy was unaware that he was being filmed, which added a further layer of severity to the case.
Langford was arrested in July 2016 after the second victim’s account prompted police to act.
He was charged with multiple offences, including two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child, one count of attempting to engage in a penetrative act, voyeurism, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and making an indecent image of a child.
During a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Langford pleaded guilty to all charges in December 2016.
As part of his sentence, Langford was placed on the Sex Offender Register for life and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which restricts his contact with anyone under the age of 16.
The case highlights the importance of vigilance and the bravery of victims in coming forward to ensure justice is served against those who exploit and harm vulnerable children in the Tipton and Sandwell communities.
