A 65-year-old man accused of raping a teenage girl has received a prison sentence of 24 years.
Carl Houldey, a resident of Tipton, was convicted on four counts of rape along with several other sexual offenses following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
During the investigation, law enforcement collected forensic evidence from clothing, examined his mobile phone, and conducted sensitive interviews with both the victim and Houldey himself.
The jury found him guilty, and on Thursday, July 3, he was sentenced to serve 24 years behind bars.
A judge mandated that he must serve at least 16 years before becoming eligible for parole.
Additionally, Houldey, of Shakespeare Road, was placed on the sex offenders register, issued a sexual harm prevention order, and a restraining order was put in place against him.
