STUART HAWKINS SENTENCED IN LEAMINGTON FOR REPEATED COURT ORDER BREACHES AND THREATS

Stuart Hawkins, a 40-year-old man with no fixed address but previously residing in Leamington, has been handed a significant prison sentence following a series of violations of court orders and concerning threatening behavior. Hawkins, who gained some notoriety as a former actor appearing as an extra in the popular television series Game of Thrones, has a troubling history of harassment and defiance of legal restrictions.

His legal troubles began after his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, with whom he shares a daughter born in 2014, ended in early 2016. The couple had been together for approximately seven years before their separation. Following the breakup, Hawkins was subject to a non-molestation order that explicitly prohibited him from contacting his ex-partner or visiting her residence in Shipston-on-Stour. Despite the court's clear directives, Hawkins quickly breached this order, prompting magistrates to impose a conditional discharge and a restraining order in March 2016.

However, Hawkins’s defiance did not cease. Over time, he accumulated six additional convictions for breaching court orders, each time facing more severe penalties. His punishments included suspended sentences, as well as jail terms of 10 weeks, 12 weeks, and ultimately 16 months. The court heard that Hawkins’s behavior was increasingly aggressive and threatening. He had made numerous calls—up to 66 within a 48-hour period—and had driven past his ex-partner’s home in an intimidating manner. His threats extended beyond harassment; he had also made explicit threats to harm police officers and to abduct his own daughter, raising serious concerns about her safety.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that Hawkins had spent part of his time in Belfast working on the television series Game of Thrones, which added a layer of complexity to his case. The court was informed that Hawkins believed his ex-partner had abducted their daughter, fueling a long-standing grudge and further complicating the situation. His actions and threats indicated a pattern of obsessive behavior and a willingness to manipulate legal boundaries.

Hawkins’s defense lawyer, Niall Skinner, acknowledged his client’s frustration but emphasized that his repeated breaches and threatening conduct were unacceptable. Hawkins himself expressed remorse in a letter to the court, claiming that he ‘just wants to be a father.’ Despite this, the judge was unimpressed with his self-centered and manipulative tendencies. Recognizing the potential danger Hawkins posed, especially given his threats to abduct his daughter and harm others, the court sentenced him to 18 months in prison. The judge highlighted the serious harm caused by Hawkins’s actions and expressed concern that he might attempt further abduction or violence in the future.

Although Hawkins is known to be well-employed and has stable accommodation, the court made it clear that his repeated violations and threatening behavior warranted a custodial sentence. The case underscores the ongoing risks associated with individuals who flout court orders and threaten the safety of others, particularly vulnerable family members.
