STUART EYLES FROM HYDE SENTENCED FOR OVER FIFTY CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN MANCHESTER

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Stuart Eyles, a 44-year-old resident of Hyde, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of committing more than fifty child sex offences. The case highlights the dangers posed by predators who exploit social media platforms to target vulnerable children and teenagers.

Details of the case reveal that the police and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit uncovered Eyles' malicious activities following an investigation that began in 2018. The authorities were alerted after an undercover officer, posing as a 14-year-old girl, engaged in conversations with Eyles on social media. During these interactions, Eyles believed he was communicating with a minor and began to sexualise the dialogue, repeatedly asking the fictitious girl to send indecent images of herself.

Subsequently, in March 2019, law enforcement officers executed a raid on Eyles' residence located on Market Street in Hyde. During the operation, they seized multiple electronic devices, including a laptop, a camera, a mobile phone, and a USB stick. The investigation uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images of children stored on these devices, alongside evidence of sexual communication with a minor. Police also found that Eyles had sent indecent images of himself to the undercover officer, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, and had attempted to persuade her to engage in sexual activities.

Following these discoveries, Eyles was arrested outside his workplace in Wythenshawe on suspicion of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. During the arrest, authorities confiscated another mobile phone, which contained further incriminating evidence. The police charged Eyles with multiple offences, including making indecent images of children, distributing such images, and attempting to incite a minor to engage in sexual activity.

At Minshull Street Crown Court, Eyles pleaded guilty to a series of serious charges. He was subsequently sentenced to two years and six months in prison. The court also ordered him to sign the sex offenders register for a period of ten years and issued a ten-year sexual harm prevention order to restrict his future activities. The charges he admitted to include one count of sexual communication with a child, five counts of attempted sexual communication with a child, one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, 21 counts of making indecent images of a child, and 30 counts of distributing indecent images of a child.
