STUART DALEY SHOCKS ORFORD AND SANDBACH WITH INDECENT EXPOSURE INCIDENTS

In a series of disturbing incidents spanning several months, Stuart Daley, a 28-year-old man residing at Linden Bank Hostel in Sandbach, has been accused of exposing himself to multiple victims in the areas of Orford and Sandbach. The troubling behavior, which took place between January and June of 2008, involved Daley deliberately revealing his genitals to young girls as young as 14, as well as to adult women, in an apparent attempt to provoke a reaction.

According to court proceedings held at Warrington Crown Court on a recent Friday, Daley would pull down his trousers and shake his penis at his victims, a pattern of conduct that has caused significant concern among the local community. The court heard that Daley’s actions included targeting a group of three 14-year-old girls in an alleyway off Marsh House Lane, Orford. One of the girls, after witnessing Daley’s indecent exposure, contacted her mother, who then came to escort the girls home. During this walk, the trio encountered Daley again, leading to his subsequent arrest the following day, June 26.

Daley also admitted to exposing himself to a 27-year-old woman and the same group of 14-year-olds near St Elphin’s Church on May 27. Prosecutor Joanne Parsons explained that Daley claimed his actions were not driven by sexual gratification but were instead an attempt to elicit a reaction from his victims. Despite this claim, Daley’s behavior was deemed highly inappropriate and alarming.

Further investigations revealed that Daley had committed six additional exposures—four to girls around 14 years old and two to women aged 18 and 31. Police also discovered that Daley was in possession of a mobile phone that had been stolen during a burglary at Pinders Farm Drive, Orford, on June 1. The theft involved breaking into a house through an open window, from which Daley stole five mobile phones and a purse, as detailed by prosecutor Miss Parsons.

Judge David Hale condemned Daley’s actions, describing them as “disgusting offences committed over the course of this year.” In response, Daley was sentenced to a three-year supervision order and placed under a 12-month condition of residence at a hostel. Additionally, he is required to register his address with the police for a period of five years and to complete a sex offenders’ rehabilitation program, emphasizing the seriousness with which the court views these offences.
