POLICE INSPECTOR COPS TO STALKING OF EX-PARTNER AND FACES JOB LOSS
A serving Police Scotland inspector has been fined and given a 12-month non-harassment order after admitting to stalking a fellow officer.
Specifically, Stewart Andrew was found guilty of engaging in a course of conduct causing fear or alarm to his ex-partner by repeatedly sending her emails between January 15 and 26 last year, and on one occasion, turning up at her home in Kirkcaldy when not invited.
He was also fined £1125 and ordered to pay a £75 victim surcharge.
The court proceedings took place at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday, February 27, and the officer will now be referred to the force’s Professional Standards Department.
He earlier admitted to domestic abuse of a former partner.
Promoted to inspector in 2019 after a lengthy career, Andrew faces losing his job over the stalking conviction.
