PLYMOUTH MAN STEVEN JOHN WILLIAM JARROLD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN PLYMOUTH

A man from Plymouth has been handed an eighteen-month prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman.

Steven John William Jarrold, aged 39 and residing on Manston Close in Plymouth, appeared before Plymouth Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual assault without penetration. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about the incident, which took place in the context of a social setting involving alcohol.

According to court reports, Jarrold and the victim had been drinking together at a local pub in Plymouth. The victim described herself as heavily intoxicated during the encounter, which raises concerns about her capacity to consent. Later that evening, Jarrold committed a sexual assault against her. Following the assault, he apologized to the victim and left the scene, leaving her in a distressed state.

After his arrest, Jarrold continued to communicate with the victim through messages, which police later uncovered during investigations. In police interviews, he admitted to touching the victim, confirming the allegations against him.

As part of his sentencing, Jarrold has also been ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure intended to monitor his activities and prevent further offenses.
