September 2013 Pervert Admits Sexual Abuse A man has been prohibited from being alone with young girls after admitting to the sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl.
Steven Gullon, from Jarrow, pleaded guilty to 18 counts of indecency with a child under 14, which occurred over a span of four years.
Newcastle Crown Court was told that the girl remained silent about the abuse for many years, but decided to come forward after she became worried he might harm others.
In her victim impact statement, she stated that Gullon had "robbed her of her childhood." Gullon received a three-year community order.
If he breaches the order, he faces 18 months in jail.
He is also banned from being alone with girls under 16 and is required to register as a sex offender for five years.
