SOUTH TYNESIDE MAN FACES JAIL AFTER BEING CAUGHT WITH CHILD AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY.
John McLean, aged 62, was discovered with a disturbing collection of material on electronic devices during a police raid at his residence on Auckland Terrace, Jarrow.Forensic analysis uncovered a Category A image depicting a child, which magistrates acknowledged as among the most severe types of illegal content.
Additionally, authorities found two images classified as Category B, along with 22 images and 12 videos categorized as Category C.
Prosecutor Paul Anderson explained that the most incriminating evidence was the presence of 36 images and 168 videos showing acts of bestiality, specifically involving a man engaging in sexual acts with a dog.
McLean admitted to three counts of creating indecent images or pseudo-photographs of a child and also pleaded guilty to possessing extreme pornographic images or videos portraying sexual acts with a dead or living animal.
Magistrates ordered him to be placed on the sex offenders register and granted unconditional bail, with sentencing scheduled at Newcastle Crown Court on April 11.
The duration of his inclusion on the register will be decided at that hearing.
Prosecutor Anderson described the police operation, stating, "The warrant was executed at his Auckland Terrace home in July 2020.
Devices were seized, revealing images of children and extreme pornography.
Notably, 36 images and 168 videos were of bestiality.
The offences could attract a sentence of up to three years.
I believe the case should be heard in crown court." McLean's illegal activities spanned from July 2006 to July 2020.
