WORCESTER SEX OFFENDER ACCUSED OF SEX CHATS WITH GIRL
A 26-year-old Worcester convicted sex offender has appeared in court charged with engaging in sexual communication with a 13-year-old girl.Stephen Unsworth of Ripon Road, Ronkswood, Worcester, appeared via videolink at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He did not enter pleas to several charges involving a child who cannot be identified.Unsworth is accused of breaching a sexual harm prevention order between June 1, 2019 and March 18, 2020, by allegedly communicating with a 13-year-old girl.
This was prohibited by the terms of a sexual harm prevention order made at Worcester Crown Court on October 12, 2015.He also faces charges of engaging in sexual communication with a child between June 1, 2019, and March 18, 2020, and three charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity within the same period.Magistrates declined jurisdiction for the case.
The next hearing will be for plea and case management on May 30 at Worcester Crown Court.
No bail application was made by his solicitor and he remains in custody.
