REID FACES JAIL AFTER BRUTAL ASSAULT ON HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND
Reid appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted engaging in a course of abusive conduct towards his former partner which included assault to severe injury. The abuse took place between April 2024 and January 2025 in Glasgow and Lanarkshire.
Depute fiscal Neil Thomson told the court: "The complainer and the accused in his home in Glasgow and ended up in an argument which moved towards a struggle with both struggling with each other.
During this the accused seized hold of her right arm and while in the course of seizing her arm, she described hearing a 'pop' and that is the damage taking place to her upper arm." That was subsequently assessed that she had a fractured ulna and had to have that placed in a cast and that is one of the last things that happened during their relationship.
He said: "It would be unrealistic not to say that this is a serious charge.
Charges under this legislation deal with courses of conduct of abusive behaviour and the circumstances narrated to me could not be described as a trivial matter and the complainer suffered a serious injury." "I need to consider all options in this case." Prosecutors have asked for a non-harassment order banning Reid from contacting Miss McIntyre.
