A 34-year-old Kirkcaldy man, Stephen James Ferguson, has been made the subject of a 999-year Non-Harassment Order following his conviction for a number of serious offences, including domestic abuse involving a child.
At Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on 22 June 2026, Ferguson was convicted of assault to injury and danger of life, an offence under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010, and an offence under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018 involving a child.
Following the convictions, Sheriff J.H.
Williamson imposed a Non-Harassment Order under Section 234A of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995.
The order prohibits Ferguson from approaching, contacting, or attempting to contact the protected person for a period of 999 years.
Court documents state that any breach of the order may constitute a criminal offence and could result in further prosecution.
A notification issued by the court explains that the order is intended to protect the victim from further harassment or unwanted contact.
Anyone protected by such an order is advised to report any suspected breach to Police Scotland immediately.
The Non-Harassment Order was issued on 22 June 2026 and remains in force unless varied or revoked by the court.
