A man responsible for a series of brutal sexual assaults in Blackburn has been sentenced to a significant prison term after being convicted of heinous crimes.

Slawomir Klimek, aged 33, was found guilty at Preston Crown Court of attacking two women in the town during the months of November and December 2024.

The court proceedings revealed the disturbing details of his violent actions, which have left the local community shaken and deeply concerned about safety.

According to court reports, Klimek first targeted a woman in her 30s on Throstle Street.

He approached her unexpectedly and immediately resorted to violence, forcibly grabbing her coat, striking her in the face, and then applying pressure to her throat in an attempt to subdue her.

The assault culminated in him raping her, using threats and intimidation to control her during the ordeal.

After the attack, Klimek fled the scene, leaving the victim traumatized and frightened.

Just two weeks later, Klimek was involved in another violent encounter, this time with a different woman.

During this second assault, the victim screamed for help and struggled fiercely to resist his advances.

Despite her efforts, Klimek continued his assault, leaving her in a state of semi-consciousness and suffering from the trauma of the attack.

This second incident also involved rape, further emphasizing the severity of his crimes.
