2010: DUDLEY MAN JAILED FOR SCHOOL GIRL SEX ATTACKS
A 36-year-old man from Dudley has received a prison sentence totaling twelve and a half years after being convicted of multiple severe sexual offenses involving a schoolgirl.During his sentencing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Judge John Warner commented that Janjua, of Bourne Street, displayed a complete lack of remorse or concern for his young and vulnerable victim.
The judge emphasized that the girl was forced to suppress her feelings and bear the emotional burden of the traumatic acts committed against her.
Janjua denied charges of raping the girl as well as three counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual assault, and another charge of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Despite his denials, the jury reached a unanimous verdict of guilt following a trial, having considered all the evidence.
The judge stated that the sentence was necessary both to protect the public from possible future offenses and to ensure Janjua's rehabilitation.
The defense lawyer, Darron Whitehead, argued that Janjua maintained his position that the girl’s testimony was false and expressed ongoing doubts and concerns regarding the evidence presented against his client.
