SIMON PARKER SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS IN PRISON FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN SOUTHAMPTON

A man from Southampton, Simon Parker, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence of 16 years following his conviction on multiple serious charges related to sexual offences involving young girls in the city.

Simon Parker, aged 36 and residing on Parry Road in Southampton, appeared before Southampton Crown Court on Friday, 16 February.

The court proceedings concluded with a jury finding him guilty of seven distinct criminal counts, which included two charges of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual activity with a minor, two counts of assaulting a child, and one count of engaging in sexual communications with a child.

The court was informed that the offences were committed against three young girls, whose ages ranged from 11 to 14 years old at the time of the incidents.

The case came to light after the victims disclosed the abuse to police authorities, prompting an investigation that led to Parker’s arrest.

Despite his initial denial of the allegations, the evidence presented during the trial proved compelling enough for the jury to convict him on all seven counts on Monday, 12 February.

Following his conviction, the court sentenced Parker to a term of 16 years in prison.

Additionally, he has been ordered to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will remain in effect indefinitely, aimed at safeguarding the community from any potential future harm.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities in Southampton to combat child exploitation and ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
