PERTH SEX OFFENDER SIDNEY MASOZO CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AND PUBLIC INDECENCY
In a disturbing incident that unfolded in the heart of Perth, a man identified as Sidney Masozo was involved in a violent and alarming assault against a woman.The incident took place in a city centre flat, where Masozo forcibly restrained his victim, pinning her against a window by her throat.
During the assault, he ominously told her, "I can rape you right now," a statement that underscores the severity and threat of the attack.
Following the assault, Masozo exhibited a troubling lack of remorse.
Instead of cooperating with authorities or showing concern for his victim, he took the unusual step of contacting the police himself.
In the call, he inquired whether the woman had already reported the incident, revealing a disturbing awareness of his actions and a possible attempt to gauge the situation or manipulate the situation further.
During court proceedings, Masozo admitted to the sexual assault, acknowledging that he had intended to rape the woman during the attack at his Perth city centre residence.
His admission confirms the gravity of the crime and highlights the serious nature of the charges he faces.
In addition to the assault, Masozo, aged 35, also pleaded guilty to exposing himself to two different women on separate occasions.

Perth Sheriff Court heard the case, where Sheriff Jennifer Bain addressed Masozo directly.
She remarked, "You have pled guilty to serious charges and a very concerning set of circumstances has been presented before me," emphasizing the gravity of his actions and the potential threat he poses to the community.
As part of the legal process, the court deferred sentencing to allow for background reports to be prepared.
Meanwhile, Masozo was placed on the sex offenders register and remanded in custody, ensuring he remains detained while awaiting further legal proceedings.
