LONDON MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AFTER OVER 100 VIDEOS OF WOMEN FOLLOWED
A man named Shekhem Manning-Egeonwon has been convicted of stalking after authorities recovered over 100 videos from his phone showing women being followed and filmed without consent.Manning-Egeonwon, aged 20 and residing on Sturgess Avenue, Hendon, northwest London, was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court to 32 months in prison.
The police stated that he also filmed victims through windows, approached women directly, or knocked on their doors, actions described as 'menacing and highly intrusive' by Detective Constable Jas Brar, causing significant distress to the women targeted.
The Metropolitan Police received a report last September about a woman followed by Manning-Egeonwon as she took her child to school.
During his arrest, another woman in her 40s approached officers to report she had also been followed.
The police later found more than 100 videos depicting multiple women, during both daytime and nighttime hours.
Manning-Egeonwon was initially identified after a victim in her 30s recognized him, leading to his arrest on suspicion of stalking.
Subsequently, a woman in her 40s also came forward.
Previously, Manning-Egeonwon had pleaded not guilty but changed his plea when evidence from his mobile phone was presented demonstrating his actions of following women.
The court also imposed a restraining order against him.
