KENILWORTH MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ASSAULT
A man named Shaun Duffy, aged 50 and living on Oaks Road in Kenilworth, has received a prison sentence of 60 weeks for multiple assaults on his girlfriend.
Because of the time he had already served in remand, he was released immediately on licence.
Duffy pleaded guilty to two charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and one count of common assault.
The court in Leamington issued a five-year restraining order to prevent him from contacting his victim.
Prosecutor Neil Bannister explained that the woman, now 23, had faced various hardships early in life, including struggles with drug addiction.
The case revealed a history of violence from Duffy, involving episodes where he punched his partner, poured hot tea on her, threw objects, and physically assaulted her during heated moments—incidents which prompted police involvement.
Duffy, who had not been convicted of violence for roughly 30 years, was also receiving counseling for domestic violence issues during his time in custody.
