PERTH THUG WHO ATTACKED PREGNANT PARTNER FLED TO GERMANY DURING PAYBACK ORDER
The Perth man, Shaun Brown, who previously attacked his heavily pregnant partner, causing her to lose the baby, has fled to Germany during the course of his community payback order. He was eventually apprehended and appeared at Perth Sheriff Court, where he was sentenced to 10 months in jail.
Brown had a history of violence against his partner, including an incident where he left her with blood streaming from her nose after an argument in her flat.
He had also previously punched her in the head in her Perth flat, injuring her, and damaged property, including smashing a television.
Despite these offences, Brown had initially received community orders but continued his violent and abusive behaviour, breaching bail conditions and court orders.
When he returned to the UK, he was arrested and convicted for his previous assaults and breaches, with Sheriff William Wood condemning his actions and stating, “There is no other option than a custodial sentence given the nature of the charges and the time that’s elapsed.
It’s time these matters are dealt with.
I think we are at the end of the line.” The court imposed a total of 10 months imprisonment, backdated to June 7, and also imposed a two-year non-harassment order as a measure of protection for his partner.
The court highlighted that Brown had not only fled but had also breached multiple previous court orders, demonstrating a pattern of ongoing abusive behaviour.
