STALKER WHO HARASSED BOY AND HIS FAMILY JAILED
A creep who stalked a child for months, including applying for a job at his school and interfering in a house sale, has been jailed.Shane York, who did not know the child, frequently followed him from school, took photographs, and logged his actions, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
Upon hearing that the boy’s family intended to move, York attempted to view the property and then contacted the estate agent pretending to be the family, attempting to cancel the property sale.
York, aged 32 and living on Squires Avenue in Bulwell, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to 10 charges linked to these activities and other offences.
He was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court to a six-year prison term plus three additional years on licence.
The family only became aware of York’s interference after they contacted the estate agent to check the sale’s status and were shown correspondence from York, purportedly sent by the family, instructing the sale to be withdrawn.
York was quickly identified as the individual behind this, which also revealed his failed attempts to secure employment at the boy’s school.
Police said the stalking began in February of the previous year and continued until York’s arrest in July.
During investigations, authorities uncovered indecent images of children related to sexual abuse cases involving another young child, spanning two years in 2023 and 2024.
A search of York’s residence resulted in the seizure of over 1,700 indecent images and videos of children and other extreme pornography.
York admitted to multiple charges: stalking; two counts of indecent assault of a child under 13; two counts of taking indecent photographs of a minor; three counts of producing indecent images of a child; possession of indecent images of children; and possession of indecent images involving animals.
