YORKSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR CHILD TRAFFICKING AND ABUSE
In Yorkshire, five men have been handed prison sentences after being found guilty of trafficking a teenage girl and sexually assaulting her.The court proceedings revealed that Mohammed Shapal, aged 22, Shakeal Rehman, 26, Yaseen Amini, 35, and Usman Ali, 21, engaged in sexual acts with the minor.
Rehman was sentenced to 12 years for raping her at a hotel, whereas Rasheed received a four-year term for trafficking.
Amini was handed a sentence of five and a half years for sexual activity with a minor plus three years for trafficking, with both to be served together.
Shapal and Rasheed, both convicted of sexual offenses involving a child, each received four-year penalties, with Shapal additionally getting a two-year sentence for trafficking that runs concurrently.
Ali’s crime earned him a three-year sentence.
The girl was abducted during the summer of 2013 by Shapal and Rehman, and three days later, she was taken to a gathering hosted by Rasheed, where Amini assaulted her sexually.
The judge condemned the crimes as 'an appalling ordeal' and described Rehman's actions as 'a callous gratuitous rape.' The court emphasized the girl’s extreme vulnerability and her lack of protection during the incident.
Rehman, a known drug dealer and burglar, was accused of orchestrating the assault and treating the victim in a particularly cruel manner.
During the sentencing hearing, Rehman shouted abusive remarks at the court.
