YORKSHIRE STALKER GETS 8 YEARS FOR VIOLENT RAMPAGE
In a terrifying episode, 26-year-old Thomas Junior Marshall, who has no fixed address, attacked his victim’s family using an axe during a violent rampage.He was sentenced to eight years after entering guilty pleas to charges including aggravated burglary, stalking, two counts of common assault, criminal damage, making threatening communications, and resisting law enforcement.
Court information from York Crown Court revealed that last October, Marshall became hostile towards a woman, made baseless accusations against her, and then assaulted two of her male relatives, aged 59 and 22.
Additionally, he vandalized a neighbour’s vehicle with graffiti.
North Yorkshire Police reported that a few days following the initial incident, his alarming crime spree peaked when he visited the woman’s relatives’ property, shattered windows with an axe, and chased a 59-year-old man upstairs.
The man was forced to hide in a bedroom, where Marshall struck the door with an axe.
Fortunately, a 22-year-old witness along with the victim’s son tried to de-escalate the situation, leading to police discovering Marshall sitting peacefully when they arrived and arresting him.
An officer commented, “I am pleased with the sentence, as it reflects the gravity of his actions.
His victims were frightened and felt their lives were at risk during the attack.
The efforts of the victim’s son, who tried to reason with Marshall, were instrumental in calming the situation and preventing more serious injuries.
Marshall’s unfounded accusations against the woman, her relatives, and neighbours showed out-of-control anger, which ultimately led to his imprisonment.
I hope he receives proper psychological support during his time in prison to ensure he does not pose a danger to others.” Marshall was sentenced to serve eight years behind bars, with a further four years on extended licence, and was ordered to pay a £190 surcharge and surrender the axe used in the attack.
