BYKER PERVERT SENT PICTURE OF HIMSELF PERFORMING SEX ACT TO 'GIRL'
A sex offender previously jailed for attempting to meet an underage girl following online grooming is back behind bars.
Durham Crown Court heard that the defendant responded to an online message sent to his TikTok user account in July this year.
Unknown to him, the message was sent by an undercover police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl.
The 26-year-old defendant responded to the message and claimed he was 16.
It was revealed that between August 14 and 21, he sent a number of sexualised messages, including images of his genitals and performing a sex act, and asked the girl for more explicit images.
He was arrested at his work on August 26, and mobile devices were seized.
During police interviews, he confirmed ownership of the devices but largely gave no comment responses.
He has four previous convictions for ten offences, including a 27-month sentence in January 2023 for sexual communication with a child and sexual grooming.
His license from that sentence ended only months before this offending.
Yearnshire admitted to attempting to cause a child to watch sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, as well as breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was sentenced to 20 months in prison, with a further 20 months, and remains subject to the existing SHPO for the next seven-and-a-half years.
A new ten-year notification period requires him to register as a sex offender after his release.
