BASFORD MAN ADMITS CONTROLLING BEHAVIOUR AND ASSAULT
A 42-year-old man has admitted multiple charges including causing a man to fear violence would be used against him on two occasions during years of controlling or coercive behaviour.
Sean Watson, of Luton Close, pleaded guilty on the day he was due to face trial.
Charges put to him were controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship between September 1, 2017, and March 16, 2021, when he was personally connected to the victim.
He then caused that person, on at least two occasions, to fear violence would be used against him - which is part of the same charge.
He also admitted assault, causing bodily harm to the same victim, and damaging a Nottinghamshire Police cell and assaulting a policewoman.
Further medical reports will now be prepared by March 21 and a pre-sentence report by April 11.
A sentencing note will be written by David Webster, who appeared for the prosecution at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, January 24.
The sentencing hearing, on April 29, is expected to take one hour.
