MAN TRIED TO MURDER PARTNER IN HOTEL ROOM DURING WEEKEND BREAK
Sean Hendry brutally attacked the woman at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh.
In what was described as a brutal assault in a hotel room during a weekend break, Hendry accused the victim of messaging other men and became increasingly aggressive.
He then placed both hands around her neck, put his fingers down her throat, and pressed a pillow onto her face, restricting her breathing.
Hendry punched her repeatedly and made comments indicating he and the victim would die that night or that he would slit her throat.
He broke off the attack, threatened to jump out of a window, and acted erratically, leading to his arrest.
Hendry admitted attempting to murder the woman and behaving threateningly, and is due to be sentenced after a background report and risk assessment.
He has previous convictions for violent and public order offences.
