RANDY COUPLE CAUGHT ROMPING IN FRONT OF HORRIFIED FAMILIES WHO CALLED IN COPS TO BUSY SCOTS PARK
A couple from Edinburgh was caught engaging in sexual acts openly in front of families in a local park.Michele Doig was observed straddling Michal Kotecki as they "grinded their groins together," while parents and children as young as six played nearby in the Meadows last summer.
Bystanders who were sitting close by, including those with young children, were appalled by the public sexual behavior and reported the incident to the police.
Both Doig and Kotecki, residents of Edinburgh, denied any inappropriate conduct but were convicted of public indecency after a trial at the city's sheriff court earlier this year.
Eyewitnesses recalled seeing the couple enjoying their day with children when they noticed them playing music and rolling on the grass at about 2:30 p.m.
on a Saturday.
One witness described seeing Doig “sitting on top of the male,” with their bodies close together and moving rhythmically.
He stated that he did not believe their actions were sexual or that he had touched Doig after she lifted her dress to show her bra.
Doig, aged 47, mentioned she is a grandmother and previously worked in social care.
She explained to the court that she had been drinking alcohol since around 11 a.m.
that day and had gone to the park to meet Kotecki and enjoy the pleasant weather.
Doig claimed that they had been listening to music on a phone and drinking when police approached them about their behavior.
She denied climbing onto Kotecki or that he had pulled her dress to expose her breasts, asserting they were merely “rolling around on the grass, not in a sexual way.” After considering the evidence, the court found both guilty, and during sentencing, Kotecki’s lawyer, James McMacken, stated that “alcohol is a mitigating factor in this case,” adding, “This was more recklessness than deviant behavior.” Sheriff John Cook stated that the incident did not meet the criteria for mandatory sexual offences registration and imposed a community payback order on the couple.
They were convicted of public indecency and engaging in sexual activity while removing clothing at the Meadows in Edinburgh on September 6 of last year.
The sheriff ordered Doig and Kotecki to be under supervision by the social work department for the next 12 months.
