MAN CAUGHT BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS FOR ATTEMPTING TO MEET A 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
Sean Eland, known for his persistent offending, was caught in an undercover police operation while serving a suspended prison sentence, after being targeted by paedophile hunters.
In May 2018, Eland was released on bail after being apprehended by Dark Justice at Newcastle Central Station, where he arrived with the intention of meeting what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.
However, approximately one year later, despite still being under the terms of his suspended sentence, listed on the sex offenders register, and undergoing sex offender treatment, he committed another offence.
He engaged with a decoy account, which was created by the Metropolitan Police to simulate a minor, believing it to be another 13-year-old girl.
During their conversation, the 27-year-old, who was legally prohibited from contacting children under a sexual harm prevention order, sent an explicit photo, encouraged the girl to have sexual relations with a schoolmate during a class, and requested indecent images.
Eland, who resides at The Bywayss, Longbenton, Newcastle, pleaded guilty to charges including attempting sexual communication with a minor, breaching a sexual harm prevention order, inciting a child to carry out sexual activity, and producing indecent images of children.
He was subsequently sentenced to two years in prison.
