DUMBARTON RAPIST SCOTT MURRAY CAUGHT WITH JEANS UNBUTTONED IN STREET IS JAILED
2018 - A Dumbarton rapist who was caught by police with his fly unbuttoned near his victim's home was sentenced to five years and four months in jail today.Scott Murray, 28, subjected the woman to a degrading assault after she witnessed him carrying out a brutal attack on her male friend.
During the attack, Murray placed a TV cable around the 60-year-old man's neck claiming he was going to choke the life out of him, as well as rape and kill the woman.
He repeatedly struck the man on the head with a wooden stool and continued to batter him after he fell onto a sofa.
He then forced the 41-year-old woman to perform oral sex on him, threatening her with the words "Suck on that or I'll kill your boy." Police found Murray at a flat in Dumbarton with bloodstained jeans unbuttoned.
Earlier, Murray admitted to raping the woman on January 21, and also acknowledged assaulting the man which caused severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Murray, who has previous convictions for assault, also pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting another woman at a flat in Dumbarton in December 2016, where he pushed her and grabbed her scarf, restricting her breathing, and touched her private parts.
The High Court in Edinburgh ordered Murray to be on the sex offenders' register for life and under supervision for an additional three years, stating he engaged in a course of conduct including sexual assault on two women and a serious assault on a man.
His defence claimed the crimes were motivated more by anger and intoxication than sexual gratification, acknowledging his behaviour was unacceptable.
