GLASGOW MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL COMMUNICATIONS AT LIBRARY
A man named Scott Hendry, aged 40, was convicted and sentenced to 12 months in jail for engaging in illegal sexual communications with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, who was actually an adult decoy.
He used the Meet 24 application to meet the decoy at Cardonald Library in Glasgow.
During their online conversation, Hendry disclosed his name and then quickly turned the discussion sexual in nature over two days.
As part of their dialogue, Hendry made a sexual remark and asked the decoy if she liked talking dirty, saying: “Okay, are you okay?
I’m from Scotland, do you like talking dirty on here?
Lol baby.” After the decoy contacted police due to his explicit contact, Hendry was traced to the library where he was found and arrested on a Saturday.
He pleaded guilty to charges of sending sexual communications of a graphic nature and attempting to communicate indecently with a child.
The court heard Hendry has previous convictions for similar offenses.
Sheriff Paul Crozier sentenced Hendry to 12 months in prison and also ordered him to register on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
