Kirkcaldy man convicted after sexualised assault incident at woman’s home Scott David Robert McLaren, 40, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, was convicted at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court in November 2025 after an incident involving misconduct towards a young woman in her own home.
McLaren is understood to have turned up drunk and uninvited at the woman’s address.
After being allowed inside by a flatmate, he waited for the woman to return from a night out.
When she came home, McLaren stripped naked and asked her for sex.
After she refused, he assaulted her by punching her and shoving her down stairs.
He then left the property and later fled from police in a vehicle he had access to but did not own.
After abandoning the vehicle, he attempted to run from officers and then resisted police when caught.
Following conviction, McLaren was made subject to a 12-month Non-Harassment Order, issued at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on 6 November 2025, preventing him from approaching or contacting the protected person and from entering a specified street.
The court paperwork states he was convicted of assault to injury, two Road Traffic Act offences, and offences under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010, including one aggravated by sexual orientation.
He was also banned from driving for six months, fined, and given community service.
McLaren is now understood to be back driving and working as a delivery driver for Just Eat / Uber Eats in the Kirkcaldy area.
A further court case involving McLaren is understood to be scheduled for August.
