SAUL ARAMBURO FROM CANTERBURY AND LONDON JAILED FOR VIEWING CHILD ABUSE MOVIES
In November 2013, a disturbing case emerged involving Saul Aramburo, a male au pair originally from Spain, who was working in Canterbury.The incident came to light after a series of alarming events that revealed his disturbing interest in illegal and abusive material involving children.
Aramburo was found to have been so engrossed in viewing vile child abuse movies that he failed to notice the young boy he was caring for standing right beside him.
The child, a boy from Canterbury, spent several seconds observing the graphic and illegal images, which later became a matter of concern when the boy discussed what he had seen with friends at school.
Teachers at the boy’s school overheard these conversations and promptly reported their suspicions to the authorities.
This led to a police investigation and the subsequent arrest of Saul Aramburo.
During police questioning, Aramburo, who was 27 years old at the time, claimed that he had no interest in the images involving children.
Instead, he stated that his sole purpose was to compare the size of his manhood with other internet users, a claim that did little to mitigate the severity of his actions.
Prosecutor Jim Harvey presented evidence at Canterbury Crown Court indicating that Aramburo had downloaded more than eight hours’ worth of illegal and sexually explicit movies.
The material included content classified up to level four, which involves the most severe forms of child abuse imagery.
The court heard that Aramburo had accessed a total of 41 such movies, highlighting the extent of his illegal activity.
Following his guilty plea, Aramburo was sentenced to eight months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender and was banned from working with children for a period of ten years.
The court’s decision was underscored by the seriousness of his offending and the harm caused to the victims depicted in the illegal images.
Judge Adele Williams addressed Aramburo directly during sentencing, emphasizing the gravity of his actions.
She stated, “One of the movies showed a child as young as six engaged in sexual activity.
The mischief of this offending is that these are real children being really abused, and the evil of this offending is that those who make these images and abuse these children do so because people like you download these images from the internet.” This case highlights the ongoing issues surrounding the distribution and consumption of illegal child abuse material, and the importance of vigilant reporting and law enforcement efforts to combat such heinous crimes.
