SANJEEV MITTAL SHOCKS EDGBASTON WITH SEX ATTACKS ON YOUNG GIRLS DURING LESSONS
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Edgbaston community, Sanjeev Mittal, a 49-year-old private tutor, has been sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting young girls during his tutoring sessions. The heinous acts took place both at the victims' family home and at Mittal's own residence and business premises, revealing a disturbing pattern of abuse.Authorities became aware of the allegations after a series of investigations were initiated following a report from one of the victims. The first girl confided in her father that she had been touched inappropriately by Mittal during a lesson at her family home. This disclosure prompted her father to seek help from the NSPCC in November 2016, which subsequently led to police involvement.
Further inquiries uncovered that Mittal had also assaulted a second girl on multiple occasions. This victim revealed that the abuse occurred not only at her family’s residence but also at Mittal’s own home and business addresses, indicating a troubling pattern of predatory behavior. The police investigation confirmed these allegations, leading to Mittal’s arrest and subsequent trial.
After a thorough legal process, Sanjeev Mittal was found guilty of nine counts of sexual assault against a child under the age of 13. The court sentenced him to five years in prison on the Friday following his conviction. The sentence was met with approval from Julia Mcsorley of the Crown Prosecution Service, who expressed her condemnation of Mittal’s actions.
Ms. Mcsorley stated, “Sanjeev Mittal abused his position of trust and authority to inappropriately touch his two young victims for his own sexual gratification.” Her comments underscore the gravity of the case and the breach of trust involved in these offenses, which have left a lasting impact on the victims and their families.
