BURTON CARER SAMUEL STEWART JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
Samuel Stewart, a former carer aged 65 from Burton, is now incarcerated after perpetrating sexual assaults against two women.
The police have commended the victims for their courage as he begins his prison sentence.
The incidents took place between August 2020 and April 2021, during which Stewart reportedly made frequent sexual comments to the women and touched one of them on multiple occasions.
The case was brought to police attention in April 2021, leading to Stewart’s arrest and interviews with Staffordshire Police.
He initially confessed to three counts of sexual assault on a woman, and was later convicted of three additional counts.
Law enforcement officials state that Stewart, who used to work as a carer, assaulted the women in East Staffordshire.
At Stafford Crown Court earlier this week, he received a sentence of 27 months in prison.
Furthermore, he has been subject to a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and fined £150 in surcharge costs.
Detective Sergeant Chris Wynn-Jones of the adult safeguarding unit expressed gratitude to the victims, praising their bravery in ensuring that justice was served.
