BURTON MAN ESCAPES JAIL AFTER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ATTACK
A 42-year-old man named Radoslaw Lewandowski narrowly avoided imprisonment after being involved in a serious and lengthy assault on a woman.He appeared before Cannock Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty to assaulting the victim in Oak Street, Burton, on August 29.
The court was informed that the incident was a deplorable example of domestic violence.
Magistrates sentenced Lewandowski to 18 weeks in prison, but the sentence was suspended for a period of 12 months.
He is also required to adhere to a 12-month restraining order and to pay £85 in court costs along with a £128 victim surcharge.
Additionally, the court ordered him to pay £200 in compensation to the victim.
The assault was characterized as serious and extended in duration, and Lewandowski has previous convictions for violence.
He will additionally need to complete an alcohol treatment program and perform 80 hours of unpaid community service.
