NEWPORT MAN TO FACE TRIAL AFTER PLEADING NOT GUILTY TO RAPE

A MAN who has pleaded not guilty to rape, attempted rape and sexual assault charges is to stand trial.

Sam Davies, 34, of Chepstow Road, Newport denied the alleged offences which the prosecution claims occurred in Rhondda Cynon Taff county several years ago.

The defendant is due to go on trial on January 18, 2027.

He was granted bail by Judge Daniel Williams after he appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.
