NEWPORT MAN JAILED OVER SEX OFFENDERS’ REGISTER OFFENCE
A man has been remanded in custody once again after a jury convicted him at trial for not adhering to the requirements of the sex offenders' register.Ross Clarke, aged 37 and from Newport, failed to visit a specified police station within three days of being released from prison.
The incident in question took place on November 13 of the previous year, Cardiff Crown Court was informed.
He maintained his innocence throughout.
Clarke, who does not have a fixed residence, was sentenced to 40 weeks in prison and was also instructed to pay a £187 surcharge by Judge Eugene Egan.
