SALLY CAPPER FROM OSWALDTSWITLE FOUND GUILTY FOR ABANDONING EMACIATED KITTENS NEAR OSWALDTSWITLE

In a distressing case that has drawn concern from local residents and animal welfare organizations, Sally Capper, a resident of Stanhill Lane in Oswaldtwistle, Hyndburn, was found guilty of neglecting two young kittens in a severely malnourished state.

The incident came to light after neighbors, alarmed by the kittens' emaciated condition, contacted the RSPCA to report their suspicions.

RSPCA Inspector Nina Small responded promptly to the call and visited Capper’s residence in Oswaldtwistle.

During her inspection, she discovered one of the critically thin kittens in a neighbor’s garden, visibly suffering from neglect.

A second kitten was observed from the porch of Capper’s home, lying nearby in a state of unresponsiveness, which raised immediate concerns about the animal’s survival.

When Inspector Small approached Capper at her residence, she was able to persuade her to relinquish the kittens to the charity.

Capper explained that she had been providing food for the animals, claiming that she left food out regularly.

However, she also stated that one of the kittens had a habit of knocking over their food bowl, which she suggested might explain their poor condition.

Despite her explanation, the evidence of neglect was clear and undeniable.

Following the investigation, Capper was prosecuted and faced legal consequences for her actions.

She was ordered to pay a fine of £300 in costs and was banned from keeping any animals for a period of three years.

This ban, however, expired in 2019, allowing her the possibility of rearing animals in the future.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about animal welfare and the importance of responsible pet ownership within the Oswaldtwistle community.
