ACCRINGTON MAN THREW PLATE AT EX'S HEAD 2 DAYS AFTER PRISON RELEASE
Gary Bates, 43, left his former partner with a 4cm cut just inches from her eye after throwing a plate at her.The incident occurred on January 17 when Bates, having been released only two days prior from a six-week prison sentence, waited outside Ms Thompson's house in Albert Street, Oswaldtwistle.
He forcibly pushed the women back inside, punched Ms Thompson and Ms Connolly, and then threw a plate which hit Ms Thompson on the forehead, causing a 3-4cm wound that required 16 stitches.
Bates called Ms Thompson a "slag" and a "P**i sh****r" during the assault.
He was arrested on January 20 and pleaded guilty to section 20 wounding and assault by beating.
Bates was sentenced to 21 months in prison and a restraining order for 10 years was imposed.
