GLASGOW SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL ASSAULTS INCLUDING RAPE OF UNDERAGE GIRL
A high risk sex offender who raped an underage girl during his teenage years has been sentenced to four years in prison. The offender, Saif Khan, was 17 at the time of the attack and now 21.
The court heard that Khan sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl when he was 12 or 13, molesting her while she was sleeping at another address in Glasgow.
His subsequent crimes include removing the girl's lower clothing, exposing himself, and raping her at a flat in Govan, Glasgow.
Khan was also assessed as a high risk of reoffending sexually.
He was convicted of two sexual assaults and a rape, with the first attack occurring between February and July of 2016, and the second on October 16, 2020, shortly after his 17th birthday.
The judge noted that Khan had previously committed a sex crime at age 12 or 13.
He was ordered to be on the sex offenders' register indefinitely and will be under supervision in the community for two additional years when released, with the possibility of returning to prison if conditions are breached.
Khan denied the charges during his trial but was found guilty of the offences, with the court considering his young age and capacity for change.
His defense highlighted his good work record, being self-employed as a painter and decorator, and suffering from anxiety and depression.
She emphasized the harm caused and stated that there was no alternative but to impose a custodial sentence.
