ABERDEENSHIRE MAN AND PARTNER VIOLENCE CASE REPORTED IN COURT
Aberdeenshire Council intervened after an incident involving an abusive man, Ryan Moar, who was reported for threatening and violent behavior towards his partner, leading to police involvement.The incident started with a heated argument which escalated as Moar became verbally aggressive, punched holes in doors and walls, and threatened his partner, culminating in him breaking through the bathroom door where she was barricaded.
Moar called her derogatory names such as “a horrible grass,” and after police were called, he was arrested.
During court proceedings, Moar admitted to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards his partner.
The court heard that he had been aggressive after an argument about his drinking and that he punched holes in the hallway wall and living room door.
The victim called the council, declared herself homeless, and fled to barricade herself in the bathroom.
Moar then kicked the bathroom door down and tried to snatch her phone.
The police arrived and took him into custody.
His defense lawyer expressed that Moar was “genuinely remorseful” and recognized his wrongdoing.
The sheriff deferred sentencing to allow for a social work report to be prepared, with the court noting Moar's remorse.
