VILE & DESPICABLE RYAN ENGLISH FROM CASTLEFORD SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD RAPE AT YORKSHIRE WORKING MEN'S CLUBS
In a case that has deeply shocked both the local community of Castleford and the wider West Yorkshire region, 22-year-old Ryan English has received a nine-year prison sentence after being convicted of horrific crimes involving a young boy.The offences spanned several years and included multiple instances of sexual assault on a three-year-old, along with additional sexual misconduct involving another minor.
Court documents revealed that English first carried out the assault when he was around 15 years old, at which time he was working as a DJ at a Yorkshire working men’s club.
The initial attack took place inside a toilet cubicle at the venue, where he sexually assaulted the young child, causing long-lasting trauma.
The gravity of the crime was underscored by the child’s age, emphasizing his vulnerability and innocence.
It was also reported that English continued his predatory actions in 2017, when he targeted a different young victim at a separate working men’s club where he was employed.
During this incident, he exposed himself and performed an indecent act in front of the child.
The incident was brought to light by bar staff, leading to English’s arrest and subsequent police inquiries.
Investigations uncovered a disturbing pattern of behaviour, revealing that English had downloaded explicit videos depicting child rape onto his mobile device after being released on bail.
Authorities further discovered that he had been in contact with an individual via WhatsApp, requesting indecent images of children.
These findings painted a clear picture of a man involved in child exploitation and illegal activity related to child abuse.
During his trial, English denied all allegations; however, the evidence was compelling.
He was found guilty of three counts of rape, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, performing sexual acts in front of a minor, and producing three indecent images of a child.
A victim impact statement was read out on behalf of the mother of the first victim, detailing the profound and lasting damage inflicted.
She described her son’s ongoing nightmares, trauma, and the development of anxiety, self-consciousness, and anger highlighting the devastating effects of the abuse.
Judge Abdul Iqbal, QC, described the offences as “shameless and cruel,” stressing the serious nature of the crimes committed over multiple years against a vulnerable child.
He condemned English’s actions, stating they were driven by a desire to satisfy his sexual urges at the expense of innocent victims and that he had deprived them of a normal childhood.
The sentence reflects the judiciary’s stance on such crimes, aiming to deliver justice for the victims and safeguard the community from further harm.
