SENIOR POLICE OFFICER CHARGED WITH SEX OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
A senior police officer has been charged with sex offences against two children, according to Sussex Police.
West Sussex-based Det Insp Iain Macnab, 51, is accused of sexual assault and sexual activity with a child, which the force said related to his football coaching role between October 2024 and February 2025.
Macnab was on duty at the time of a further allegation of perverting the course of justice, a spokesperson for the force said.
He was suspended from duty when reports of wrongdoing were received in March 2025, they added.
Macnab is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Both victims and their families are being supported by specialist officers, and the matter was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
The IOPC has been contacted for a comment.
