POLICE HUNTING REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER WHO MAY BE USING FALSE NAME
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information to trace a registered sex offender who appeared on BBC Crimewatch Live’s Wanted Faces segment yesterday.Robert William Jones, 57, who also goes by the names Gary Bavin and William Duncane, has been recalled to prison after breaching the strict conditions of his licence.
Officers believe he may now be living under a false identity, potentially in London or on the South Coast.
He is described as having a slight North East accent and has previously worn a hearing aid in his left ear.
Jones has several distinctive tattoos, including a masked woman, a swallow with a name beneath, faded barbed wire and the word Bopper.
Police say it is possible he has attempted to disguise these by having them tattooed over.
West Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who may have seen Jones or has information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Members of the public can report information by calling 101 or using the LiveChat function on the West Yorkshire Police website.
