MAN TO STAND TRIAL OVER CHILD SEXUAL COMMUNICATIONS ALLEGATIONS

A Ballygawley man has been returned for trial in relation to child sexual communication allegations.

Appearing for a committal hearing was Ryan Allen (30) from Errigal Road, accused of attempting to communicate sexually with a female child for his own gratification as well as encouraging or assisting in the creation of an indecent image of a child.

The alleged offending occurred between January 5 and 17, 2024.

During the short hearing, Allen confirmed his identity and that he understood the charges against him.

Judge Rafferty remanded him on £300 bail and ordered him to appear at Dungannon Crown Court on February 21, with conditions including residence restrictions and no contact with anyone under 18 without Social Services' approval.
