SEX OFFENDER RONAN KORBY/LEE WATERSWORTH SPOTTED IN RHYL AFTER ESCAPE FROM BRISTOL PRISON
In June 2019, authorities issued a serious alert after a convicted sex offender, Ronan Korby, also known as Lee Watersworth, was reported missing from a prison in Bristol.The individual, who was serving time for sexual offenses, had been participating in a work placement at HMP Leyhill, an open prison located in South Gloucestershire.
On the morning of Friday, May 31, Korby was last seen at approximately 10 a.m.
during his work assignment and failed to return to the facility as scheduled.
Following his disappearance, police launched an extensive search operation, and it was not long before sightings of Korby emerged from North Wales.
The authorities confirmed that he was captured on CCTV footage at a supermarket in Rhyl, a seaside town in North Wales, just before 7:30 p.m.
on Sunday, June 2.
The footage was released to the public by Avon and Somerset Police to aid in his identification and safe apprehension.
According to police reports, Korby is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build.
At the time of the sighting, he was dressed in a black jacket and jeans.
Notably, he has distinctive tattoos, including a sun and an eagle on his right forearm, which could serve as identifying features.
The police also indicated that Korby maintains connections to the Manchester area, which could be relevant to his current whereabouts.
Authorities have issued a clear warning to the public: under no circumstances should anyone attempt to approach or confront Korby.
