RENFREW MAN GUILTY OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON STREET
A man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting his victim on a busy Renfrew road.Creepy Rohit Choudhary was convicted by a jury of the vile sexual assault following a trial at Paisley Sheriff Court.
The unanimous verdict found the 32-year-old guilty of sexually assaulting a man on Paisley Road in Renfrew on January 8, 2023.
Choudhary attacked the man by pushing him and kissing him.
The town’s court heard Choudhary inserted his hand into the man's trousers before seizing his private parts.
He also attempted to sexually assault the man’s bottom.
Choudhary had denied the charge.
The court heard that Choudhary, of Kenilworth, East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, will be sentenced next month.
He was placed on the sex offenders’ register with the length of time to be determined at his sentencing hearing.
The sheriff adjourned the case to call for a social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment, and referred Choudhary’s conviction to Scottish ministers.
The sentence is scheduled for next month.
